Computer by default.

AI should not default to sending every piece of work away. The first execution plane should be close to the user: local context, local files, local decisions, local privacy, and local control.

That does not mean every task can or should stay on one machine. Some work needs more memory, more speed, more model capacity, or more coordination than the Computer can provide. When that happens, the route should be visible and approved.

TARX calls this Computer by default, Supercomputer by permission. It is not a claim that all work is local. It is a product rule: start close, make routing visible, use more power when the work justifies it.

This changes the user’s relationship with AI compute. Instead of renting power by default, the user begins with their own environment and chooses when more horsepower is worth the trade.

The point is not purity. The point is agency. A person should understand where the work is happening and why.
