FIELD NOTE 06 · lab
Active local intelligence.
TARX is not a dormant chatbot. It is a local intelligence layer that can observe, remember, route, and rethink work with you.
A dormant chatbot waits for a prompt. Active local intelligence sits closer to the work. It can understand the current context, remember what matters with approval, connect to tools, and help decide when more compute is worth using.
This does not mean TARX should act without permission. The opposite is true. The closer AI gets to the operating environment, the more important visibility, approval, and evidence become.
The value is in continuity. A local intelligence layer can help the user see patterns across files, spaces, sessions, workflows, and recurring decisions. It can suggest what should be remembered, what should stay private, what should become a tool-assisted workflow, and what should route to the Supercomputer.
That is a different shape from a browser-only assistant. The Computer is not just a device. It is where work already lives.
TARX is building toward that layer: useful in conversation, aware of the work surface, careful with secrets, and explicit about where work runs.
