Terms of Service

The straightforward version

Personal AI Compute starts on your Computer. TARX can use the Supercomputer when work needs more and the route is allowed. By using it you agree to use it for your own purposes, not to abuse the system, and not to try to extract or reverse engineer the runtime. That's most of it.

Your account

You sign in with an email magic link. The email address you provide is the canonical identity for your account. Don't share your magic links — they're single-use, but they're yours.

TARX is open for signup. Each user gets a referral code to share with people they trust.

What you can do

  • Run TARX on your own hardware via the macOS app.
  • Use the web at tarx.com to chat with TARX through the Supercomputer.
  • Build skills, organize Spaces, store memories, and pair multiple devices.
  • Export your data at any time from Settings → Privacy.
  • Delete your account and all associated data on request.

What you can't do

  • Resell access to TARX without explicit permission.
  • Use TARX to harm others, including generating illegal content, harassing people, or running denial-of-service attacks against any system you don't own.
  • Reverse engineer the runtime or attempt to extract model weights, training data, or proprietary memory.
  • Abuse the Supercomputer mesh — running unauthorized workloads, scraping, or saturating shared compute will get your account paused.
  • Share your account credentials or magic links with people who don't have an invite of their own.

The Supercomputer

The Supercomputer is optional power for work your Computer cannot or should not handle alone. Access can be earned by contributing useful compute or bought when you need more than you give.

TARX on your Computer: the base product is free on your Computer. Power Bundles and enterprise contracts can add more predictable Supercomputer access.

SMS Terms

By opting in to TARX's SMS program — by entering your phone number, verifying ownership via one-time code, and checking the consent box at Settings → Phone — you agree to the following:

  • You are the authorized subscriber of the phone number you provide, or you have explicit permission from the subscriber.
  • Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. TARX does not charge for SMS; your carrier might.
  • Message frequency varies based on the skills you have active. TARX sends one-time codes, skill notifications, and proactive updates you asked for.
  • You may reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe from all non-critical SMS. One-time sign-in codes will still be delivered unless you remove your phone number from your account.
  • Reply HELP to any TARX message for a support response, or email howdy@tarx.com.
  • TARX is not liable for carrier-caused message delays, failures, or missed deliveries. Carriers occasionally filter or throttle traffic; we do our best to retry, but we don't guarantee delivery.
  • We do not sell, rent, or transfer your phone number for third-party marketing. See our Privacy Policy — SMS section for the full data-handling disclosure.

Disclaimers — the lawyer part

TARX is provided “as is” without warranties. We're an early-stage product; things will break, and we'll fix them as fast as we can. TARX is not a substitute for professional advice — medical, legal, financial, or otherwise.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TARXAN INC. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of TARX.

Changes to these terms

If we materially change these terms, we'll notify you via the email associated with your account. Continuing to use TARX after a change means you accept the updated terms.
